Updates, with New Layouts!

Hahaha... I've left this blog for so long. There were probably not a lot of people who came here anyway, but I just wanted to have this so that at least my stuff are a bit more organized. I used to post my digital layouts in my main blog but now I have decided to post them here instead. Easier that way. So anyway, here are four that I had worked on this weekend.

It had been two months since I last discovered digital scrapbooking and I am still loving it more than ever. There is so much to love about it and the best thing is the freebies we get. I really like discovering, downloading, unzipping and organizing them. The only downside is that it took up lots of space on the computer but thankfully I have an external hard disk, so I saved everything in there. I already have one DVD filled to the bursting with goodies and will absolutely back up more later. Right now, I survive on freebies alone but when I get my first paycheck, I'll probably buy a kit. I already have some designers in my mind. Can't wait to purchase stuff pulak... :) Like I need more stuff...

Well, see you next weekend guys, since I've started working now, so I can only scrap on weekends...

I Love Digital!

As promised, here are some layouts that I had worked on last night. I had done four and I want to do more! :)

There are just so many things that I love about digital. I read somewhere on the net that digital scrapbooking is just like traditional scrapbooking without the mess. How true! And that's why I'm loving it... :)

Going Digital

Just thought I would try doing digital layouts and see how it works. I don't think it would be too hard cause I love graphic design and Adobe Photoshop is totally my best friend, but we'll see how everything goes. Been downloading free digi kits all day, so basically I can't wait to start. :)

Finally, An Update!

I love this one. There are just so many things I love. Firstly, the title. At first I was stuck on how to do the title bit but later decided to do the L a bit bigger than the rest. At first, it was only supposed to be 'Loved' but later on, I added 'So', so that the title becomes 'So Loved', which is so true. :) It works, if I do say so myself. And I love the heart brads I put as embellishments. I also love the patterned paper! But what I love the most is the journaling, which says, 'Dina, you are one lucky girl to be so loved by many people in your life. So don't ever lose that lovin' feeling sweetie, because as we all grow older, we will always be there for you. And that's a promise.'

This one is titled 'Gadget Girl' but I think you couldn't really make it out since I used light yellow paper for the title. Ooops, my bad! It looked really nice at first but after a while, it just looked plain weird especially since I used some heart stuff over the top title, so all you can see are the hearts that looked as if they're floating around. But I love that strip of paper I put on the left-hand side. And I love the layering of the picture. :) The journaling reads: 'Dina, it amazes us to see you so easily fascinated by gadgets. Handphones are always your fave and we used it to our advantage when we wanted you to come to us.'

I love the simplicity of this one. At first I thought I didn't want to use any patterned paper but that proved to be so hard so in the end I used it anyway. I keep this one simple. The only embellishment I used is the flower sequins. I like the journaling stripes eventhough that got a little messed up. :( The best part is the title. I like! The journaling reads: 'Elise, you are like rainbow, brightening someone's day after a rainy day. And that is why I love you...'

Four more to come. Will upload them later... :)

Hmmm...

I've done some new pieces (which I like!) but I don't have time yet to post it up here due to the fact that I have not yet managed to take decent pictures of them. Maybe I'll post it next week when my practicum ends and the only thing that I have to focus on is my term paper...

For The Twins

This is the page I did for the twins' autograph book. Definitely love the upper part! But I made a silly mistake there. Did you notice the blue strip? At first, I thought I would punch out some circles and put it there but I didn't have the puncher at that time so I ended up using punched flowers instead. Like I said, silly mistake. I should have left the strip like it is! It would have been better that way, seriously.

Mwah!

I did this layout last month. At first I loved it but after a while, I thought it seems a little busy. But I guess without those embellishments like the ribbons, stickers and the sequin, it would look totally bland. Oh well...

January Birthday Gifts

Item #1: Abah's Birthday Gift Part 1 / At first, me and my sister discussed and came up with the idea to do a bumper 'sticker' of sort and we wanna say, 'GM ON BOARD' but Mak scraped our plan. Never mind. Back up plan then. And this is what I came up with. Initial plan is just to do the VIP bit but while I was sketching the layout, I thought the space on the right would be blank so I wrote something there. Basically, just wishing Abah 54th birthday and saying how he is the most important person in our lives and we love him so much, etc, etc. If you can see it (maybe you have to squint though), you would see that there was a flaw there. I thought it is still 2006 so I wrongly counted Abah's age. He was supposed to be 54 but I put there 53. D'uh! That's why there's that little bit of paper to cover the mistake I made.

Item #2: Banu's Birthday Gift & Abah's Birthday Gift Part 2 / These are pen holders I made for both Banu (left) and Abah (right). Guess what I made them from? Crisp tins! Not the big one obviously. The ones I used here are Jacker's mini tins. I still remembered when I first got the idea to alter those tins into pen holders. The tin was Yana's and she had just finished eating her crisps when I asked for it. Haha... she must have thought I was so weird, asking for the crisps tin. Anyway, I'm not really crazily in love with the one I made for Banu but I guess it will have to do. I have no idea anymore how to make it more presentable. Argh! But I like the punched flowers I put around the bottom and how it seemed to pop out. I learned that trick from Yana, using tissue paper stuck beneath the flowers. Nice eh?

As for the one I made for Abah, I was not even planning to do it. I was quite content with what I had done before (see above) but upon seeing what I did for Banu, Mak insisted on me doing it for Abah. So I thought, why not? I have another crisp tin stashed somewhere and it wouldn't take me long to do it. But guess what? I spent almost half a day doing it! And the presents are supposed to be given that night! I was stressed beyond belief because nothing seems to be right. The first one I made turned out to be so girly that my younger was so shocked upon knowing that I would be giving it to Abah. Believe me, I felt like giving up already. But I took a deep breath and went back to work on it and this is the final product. Pretty good, if I do say so myself. Abah loves it and I'm grateful for that. There's nothing that beats the feelings when the receiver of the gifts loves the gift you made for them, especially the ones you made with your whole heart.

  2. Bumper 'stickers' for my sister (Very Important Princess) and also Kak Ina (Mommy-to-be On Board) - Have not yet worked on it. Maybe will do it next week. Let's see how it goes...
